Montessori
The Montessori Curriculum focuses on a child centred approach which is characterised by providing a prepared environment. The prepared environment entails a simple and attractive appearance, all elements of this environment solely exist in order to enhance the spiritual and holistic development of the child.
At our setting, children are given exposure to Montessori Materials. These materials were scientifically designed to aid the holistic development of the child, they provide children with the key to explore the world and develop their intellectual skills. The materials have also been designed so that one is able to have a control of error, therefore the child is able to recognise whether they have made a mistake and self-correct. This in turn will enable the child to build their confidence and become responsible for their own learning.

Sensorial
Children learn through their senses “nothing comes to the intellect that it is not first in the senses” (Montessori, Secret of Childhood: pg100). The Montessori curriculum promotes the refinement of the senses.
Activities of Everyday Learning
Practical life activities are essential to teach children to teach children to function in their environment and find their place in their world and culture.
Practical life skills such as pouring, sorting, food prep, care of self and the environment and grace and courtesy lessons are the foundation of all other areas in the Montessori environment.
This gives them the internal foundation to believe in themselves with the realisation that they can conquer any task through repetition and perseverance.
Language
The richer the learning environment, the more acquisition of a child’s skills and love of reading and writing.
We Provide a rich Montessori language environment with the necessary activities that enable children to become literate at a early age.
Mathematics
The Mathematics curriculum provides a concrete foundation of maths skills that are invaluable to future learning. The math materials cover recognition of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, short and long fraction work and skip counting.
Understanding the World
The culture activities help to inspire a love of learning and offer children a new perspective of the world. This provides their imagination with more places to explore and countries to visit in the future.
This also is key in helping children gain an understanding of different cultures.
